(OOC: note, this isn't a training thread...yet. Its just meant to tell what happened to Eden so he can get back to the story.)
Eden woke up in the dark alley. Dawn was spreading its colorful, rosy wings across the sky and the first rays of the sun seemed to be peeking around the ocean. His whole body ached and his head pounded. He might have tried to get up, but he had such vertigo, he felt nauseous just laying down. He didn't open his eyes, as due to the feeling in his head, he thought the world might be swiveling around him. He instead just lay there against the ground, wondering why he was so stiff and hurt. His lip had been hurt when he fell to the ground and he tasted just a bit of the cold, dry, mud-colored blood on his lip. Suddenly, he remebered. It all came to him in a flash of memory and suddenly he realized what had happened. It seemed to really sink in for the first time that his brother had actually escaped when he had been that close to killing him. But what did it matter anyway, he reasoned. The demon king would do anything to continue to harvest souls, so even if he had killed that cursed brother of his, he would just come back until he killed Eden. He could not win. He felt anger and frustration anew. Slowly, almost gingerly, as if he expected to have broken something, he came to his hands and knees. He then used the wall to prop himself up and try to stand. The vertigo kept him from standing for too long, however, and he fell once more. He tried again, this time carefull not to try and stand on his own. He could not just yet, and even in this dark mood he had to accept that, but it didn't mean he had to like it.
He felt strange, like something was missing, or some weight was gone. Then he remembered his sword still lying on the ground. With a groan he realized he had to retrieve it. He slowly came back to his knees, picked up the sword and slowly stood up again, with the wall as an aid.
well Eden, you've gotten this far. Now what? He looked down the alley. A few people were already starting to move around. its morning already! God damn it, how am I supposed to get out of here now! he looked down at his tattered and dirty robes, at all the blood, scratches, holes and mud dried on. Then he took another look at the people of the slums. okay, maybe it wont be as hard as i thought to fit in. Damn the wings!
Eden, still leaning against the wall, gingerly extended his foot out and tried to take a step forward. He lost his balance immediately, and fell to the ground. The sudden movement made the vertigo and dizzyness even worse, and his nauseaus and sick feeling stomach finally let go of whatever it was he had eaten recentely. Eden was on his hands and knees, and was glad for that. The bile in his throat and mouth did not help his dark and angry mood however. He backed away fromt he puddle he had made into a corner. He felt an old rag behind him. He grabbed it and pulled it to him. It was an old linen sheet, covered in dirt, mud and any sort of filth you could imagine. It also sported a few odd holes, and very ragged edges in places were it was torn. Eden was actually happy he had found it. He backed off into a corner, spread the sheet over himself and folded his long, black and red wings inside the makeshift blanket so that you could not see them at a glance.
well, i have no place to go, and i cant leave. I guess i do need sleep after last night with that, Eden fell into a long, dreamless sleep that was welcomed beyond any other feeling Eden had ever felt in his entire life. His exhausted body finally had the opportunity to rest. It would work fast, healing injuries and such, and by the time he next awoke, it would not ache or make his dizzy and nauseaus anymore. Eden looked forward to that. Until then, he had naught to do but rest.
